1. Selection

We search among the best suppliers of natural stones, trend materials that meets our customer’s needs.

After a careful selection, we have a quality material ready to be processed.

2. Extraction

After the blocks get extracted, they are carefully hand picked. We are absolutely picky when choosing the best option taking into consideration coloration, movements and structure.

3. Primary Processing

Cutting process, this essentially industrial process consists of turning the blocks into slabs.

4. Raw slabs inspection

After cutting, the slabs undergo an initial inspection to check dimensions and other aspects like structure and coloration, so that the finishing process can start properly

5. Honing Process

In this step, the slabs go through a roughing process made with specifics abrasives, so that they get a flat surface. Also at this stage, we can check for defects and fix them prior to going to our next step, which is the polishing step.

6. Dry Process

In this part of the process, the slabs undergo a drying process, in an oven, so that they can absorb the resin to be applied.

7. Resin Process

At this stage of the process, we use an imported epoxy resin, suitable for resining natural stones, which makes them gain more shine, color, structural and chemical resistance.

The resin is also used to fill in and fix small imperfections that may appear on the surface of the slabs.

8. Polishing Process

The polishing process consists of, by means of abrasives and machines, sanding the slab’s surface on a specific sequence of abrasives that goes from 80-grit up to 600-grit. This process is realized until perfectly smooth giving it a shiny and stain-resistant surface.

9. Retouching

In this process, natural defects in the stone surface, undergo a repair that consists of heating the place and applying resin, this is a completely manual job.

10. Waxing Process

With the use of finer abrasive than in the honing and polishing processes, the slabs gain more shine, which is measured using a device called a gloss meter.

11. Slab by Slab Inspection

To ensure the quality of the products we work with, we inspect slab by slab, looking for any imperfection that needs repair to be sent to our customers.

12. Slabs Packing

The slabs are carefully placed on racks, taking into consideration their thickness and weight, as well as the weight limit of the container. The bundles are then photographed for recording purposes.

13. Bundle Packing

The bundles are packed on wooden pallets, with plastic between the slabs, to protect them from dust and scratches.

14. Container Loading

The bundles are loaded into the container with an overhead craine. We take extra care and calculate the weight so that it is distributed evenly in the container. Also, we normally add 3 bundles at the front and 4 bundles at the back of the container (by the door) in order to make it easier to unload them.

15. Inland Transportation

We take the containers to the port, where they are prepared for shipping overseas. From there, properly stored and secured, Elegant Stone’s material depart towards our customers.
